Esslinger’s 1868 - 1964

Esslinger’s was founded by George Esslinger in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1968. They were one of the biggest breweries in Philadelphia at the time. During the second year of prohibition George Esslinger passed away, the brewery sat still until 1925 when the Brown Brothers purchased the company. Esslinger’s was the first brewery in the city of Philadelphia to package its beer in cans. Esslinger’s brewery was located at 412/422 Rugan Street, Philadelphia.
